Gateridge Farm Open Day.  The Thompson family own 24 Suffolks at the Gateridge Stud and are offering the public a chance to meet the horses. 10am to 5.00pm. Gateridge Farm, Croughton, near Brackley, Northamptonshire NN13 5GR

Suffolk Owners meeting 4.00pm – 8.00pm at Twemlows Hall Stud Farm, Whitchurch, Shropshire SY13 2EZ.
The evening will comprise a short tour of the stud, talks by Nicole Lowry, Tullis Matson, and Ben Ryder-Davies, open forum questions and answers, and light refreshments.  Tickets £10 per head. Booking essential. Contact the Suffolk Horse SOciety office by ’phone or e-mail.

2009 STUD BOOK
The Suffolk Horse Society Stud Book for 2009, volume number 86 was published on 24th April 2010 priced at £5.00 plus £1 postage & packing.  Stud Book volumes  77 to 85 inclusive are also available from the Society’s office.  Back issues of the Stud Book from the 1920s, 30s and 40s are available at £10.00 each. Enquire at the office to ascertain availability of specific years.                               

                    

SUFFOLK HORSE MAGAZINE
Issue Number 83 of the Suffolk Horse Magazine for Winter 2009/2010 has now been published. Packed with news about Suffolk horses the magazine is sent free to all members and friends of the Society or can be purchased at £3.50 a copy from the SHS trailer at selected shows, from the Suffolk Heavy Horse Museum in Woodbridge, or by post from the office. p&p 50p extra. Look out for Issue 84 due out in late August.

2008 – 42 pure-bred foals were registered
2009 – 41 pure-bred foals were registered
20I0  – As at 19 July the births of 50  pure-bred foals have been reported                              

                           

Used Printer Cartridges and Old Mobile Phones
Don’t throw away your empty printer cartridges or old mobile phones. The Suffolk Horse Society can use them to raise funds. Send your cartridges to The Suffolk Horse Society Empty Printer Cartridge Appeal, Freepost NAT16879, PO Box 575, Ipswich, Suffolk IP8 4WR. Why not ask the Society for a supply of Freepost envelopes for your office. (Freepost is only available within the UK) Not only will you be helping the Suffolk horse but you will be reducing the waste that goes to landfill.  Please note (i) It is not possible to recycle Epson/Epson compatible cartridges so these cannot be accepted .
