Suffolk Young Handler

The Suffolk Young Handler Championship
In a bid to make a more competitive Young  Handlers’ Competition the Society has decided to run a championship for 2016. It will take place at the
Suffolk Foal & Yearling Show date tbc.

Rules and Regulations Qualification
The competition is open to all young handlers aged between 13 and 18 years old, and they will be eligible to qualify at one of the Suffolk Horse Society’s affiliated shows and at the Suffolk Spectacular. One young handler will qualify at each of the shows running a Young Handler class. If the winner has already qualified, qualification will go down the line.

Judges and Judging
The final competition will be judged on the preparation, overall turn out and handling abilities of the young handler. Each entrant will be given two hours to braid and prepare their horse and will then be asked to take the horse into the ring for the class. The judge will be present during this time and points will be awarded for all disciplines.
