Suffolk Supreme Championship - CANCELLED UNTIL 2021
CANCELLED UNTIL 2021
The competition is open to registered Suffolk horses, regardless of age or gender, that are eligible for any of the affiliated shows held across the country through the showing season.
Automatic qualification will go to the champion of a given show, however if a particular horse has already qualified the reserve will become eligible. Should this horse also have already qualified then the horse placed third in the championship line-up will qualify.
The final competition will take place at the Suffolk Horse Spectacular, held on the 13th September 2020, judged by a panel of judges on a points system. The judging panel will comprise two Society panel judges and one other independent, recognised and respected judge.
Prize money to all places, and the Supreme Trophy presented to the winner on the day.
"After consulting with all members of the Council, the Executive Committee has, reluctantly, decided that it will not be possible to hold the AGM this year. This is due to Government restrictions on the holding of meetings which have not been relaxed to the extent that we had hoped.
In place of the AGM we shall hold a meeting of the Council via Zoom on Tuesday 14th July at 6.00 pm. We shall conduct the formal business normally done at the AGM followed by the business which is normally conducted at the meeting immediately following the AGM. Trustees will also have the opportunity to raise other business at the end of this meeting.
Regrettably, for similar reasons, it has been decided not to hold the Spectacular this year, nor to put on a display of Suffolk horses at Palace House, Newmarket, in August.
Following the recent Suffolk Horse Society Ballot we can confirm the following

Foals! Foals! Foals!
It's our favourite time of the year at the Suffolk Horse Society, with notifications coming in thick and fast about the new foals arriving.
Please check our Facebook page facebook.com/Suffolkhorsesociety for the most recent updates, and our Foal Watch page on the website suffolkhorsesociety.org.uk/horse-business/foal-watch/
On the 1st of May, the total stands at 15 foals on the ground - 9 of which are colts, and 6 are fillies. (The figure on the Foal Page is slightly below this as we wait for permission to announce names)
If you are a breeder, please don't forget to notify us as soon as possible of all foalings, so that we can send you out your registration form.
